Bhakti Tirtha Swami is spiritual teacher of majority of our temple devotees... Mohana das and his wife Adbhuta Datri devi dasi spent quite a lot of time with him... They where there when he was living his body. Last thing he told them was: „if you want to make me happy go back to Croatia and open a spiritual centar...“ So, all that we have is a mercy of His Holiness Bhakti Thirta Swami... He was incredible holy and compationed person who was giving himself to others all of his life... He always had time for problems of others. He especially emphasized care for children and women in our society.
He was born as John E. Favors in Christian, pious family. As a young evangelist he regularly appeared on television. As a young man he was a leader in civil rights movement of doc. Martin Luther King. He becomes a president of student board on university of Princeton and also he was a president of Third world coalition. Although, he graduated psychology, he gain compliments in fields of politics, African studies, indology and international law.
His Holiness worked as assistant coordinator in program for judicial reform in office of state attorney, country of New Jersey. He also worked as director of several clinics against drug addiction in U.S.A. Beside that, he was special counselor for school affairs in U.S.A. and he run campaign of politicians. As a representative of Bhaktivedanta Book trust, Bhakti Tirtha Swami obtains international reputation especially because of his outstanding cooperation with scientists in former communist countries.
As only Afro-American vaisnava guru of the world, Bhakti Tirtha Swami was directly supervising projects in U.S.A. (Washington, Detroit and Pennsylvania), Caribbean islands, West and South Africa. He is spokesman of American federation vaisnava schools and colleges.
In U.S.A. Bhakti Tirtha Swami was a founder and principle of the Institute for applied spiritual technology, president of International council for urban development and one of the international coordinator of Seventh pan African congress. As a man of broad perspective, he was member of Institute for Neo ethic-science, Center for information defense, United Nations for America federation, National peace institute, Society for future world and Global forum of spiritual and parliamentary leaders.
Since he was an expert for international relationships and solving conflicts, Bhakti Tirtha Swami constantly traveled through the world giving spiritual advises to the many of high members of United nations, famous persons, leaders, kings and judges of Supreme Court. As a standing committee for his work in Africa and rest of the world he was crowned as high chief in Warry, Nigeria. He had meetings with the president of South Africa, Mandela, to share visions and strategies for world peace.
Along with encouragement of self-sufficiency by school, clinic, farm and home trade development, Bhakti Tirtha Swami was holding the courses regarding spiritual growth, relationships, stress, time management and similar subjects. After death he is still precious participant in solving the global fight issues.
He had few thousand of disciples. He was always emphasizing need for true love and care for others… During his life he had written 15 exceptionally evaluated books. He wrote those books with amazing ability to be readable and easy accessible for spiritually advanced persons and as well spiritual beginners. Among books he wrote great hit were books which explains correct leadership (leadership for higher consciousness). His expertise in psychology and his big spiritual experience was a winning combination for successful and easy solving of interpersonal conflicts… Unfortunately our dear Guru left us 2005. Getting sick from cancer he left his body and joined his spiritual master in their pastimes.
