It was Srila Prabhupada’s requested that nobody should be hungry in a region of 10 miles from the temple. He wanted hungry people to come to temple and to be nourished by delicious prasadam (spiritual food). He made this request when through the window of his room he saw hungry children fight for food with dogs. This took place in Mayapur (India). 30 years later FFL (Food for life) became a big vegetarian organization in the world. Hundred thousands of vegetarian portions are delivered daily.
When some terrible catastrophes take place, like tsunami or other, FFT immediately starts action of food delivering to those people. ISKCON and FFL developed special programs: Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai, orphanage in Sri Lanka and Kenija, also school in Vrndavan.
Prasadam is vegetarian food offered to Krishna, food for body, mind and the soul.
Our temple also cooperates with FFL Mumbai- India, which daily delivers 40 000 portions of vegetarian food to the poor people in local schools. Some of our members deliver food together with FFL Croatia to different homes and institutions in Croatia. We also had an action in one home in our district. Everyone who wants to join this action of prasadam delivering, in India or here, is encouraged to contact us.
