Christmas lunch for all

On the 24th of December we had our traditional food distribution action in Karlovac where we try to give to the citizens of Karlovac free vegetarian hot meal.

Chooping of vegetables and cooking started early at 6 o'clock in the morning,and despite cold winter and frozen roads few of our enthusiastic volonters gathered in those early hours. Our plan was to give opportunity to a lot of people to taste our warm meal, so we prepared 10 kilos of millet, 500 potatoes and carrots melted in oil, 10 liters of tomato juice, 15 kilos of bread, 8 kilos of cabbages and 500 sweet balls made out of corn flakes, ghee, honey, nuts and cocos. For all of that we needed 3 and a half hours,and in 10 o'clock we stood at our positions at the most trafficed place between city market and one big supermarket.

With our smiling faces armed with spoons we started loudly to pronounce : ''Free vegetarian christmas lunch,come and take !!! ''

Immediately a lots of people gathered around our table,and firstly with discredit and uncertain gestures they started to take already served plates.They would stood aside and immediately after they would try few bites ,they would come and start asking questions about it and they can have receipt so they can do it themselves at home. During those conversations we would serve the plates, because there was a big river of people coming all the time.

Of course, from time to time there was some persons which didn't wanted to try it, immediately after they heard that it was vegetarian food. The few ot other guests who were eating aside approached that person and stop further '' speculation''commentaries with short explanations that they aslo had that statement at the beggining before they tasted it, so :'' first you try than judge, this is even more that tasteful and you'll miss alot if you dont try it !!! ''

In that manner all of them would stand aside and eat in ecstasy and invite all of their neigbours and encourage strangers because : ... '' this is really something unbelievable tasty and juicy and it cannot be missed !!! ''

In that cheerful surrounding we served and served without stopping, and we had a feeling that time past very slow, but suddenly there were 2 hours of serving food behind us with result of around 500 served meals.
