New Year

This whole last year was very simbolic and so much things had finally happened in our little community, so also we had a very special program with which we entered into this mysterious 2012. We gathered devotees from different countries, we had newcomers, musicians, actors, dancers and everybody of them nicely attributed to the whole atmosphere.

Program started at 7 p.m., and we had already a most of devotees gathered in front of our Deities, and some others also coming during this first hour of bhajan. Ambient stared with nice bhajan and very soon it evolved in a pleasant kirtan. Soon after that our hosts proanalized last year and events which occured. Then a short movie about friendship was presented to our group of guests.

Program continued with a first drama in this evening, and it was about a need to become a vegeterian. It was esthetically adapted to our geographical and cultural ground, but initially it was a antic old indian story describing a topic of an fallen soul who after seeing a saint decides to change his life. It was very nice and everybody was happy.

After that we did a tradicional part of our program and that was a quiz of knowledge. Devotees like very much this kind of being all together in one game, so it was a part of many smiles on their faces and very pleasant atmosphere.

Then we continued with a short presentation of pictures, describing events which occured last year and many things we accomplished during this period. Then second drama started. This time atmosphere was very dark and also the topic. Suicide theme and sankirtan devotee trying to save a soul at his last moment occupied the attention of everbody...it was a small memorial to all devotees who somehow participated in this year's Prabhupada maraton. Everbody had deep impressions about how really is urgent need that we somehow distribute as many book as we can, because there is a lot of people in bad situation, and they are crying for help so we must somebody reach them.

In next part there was a slide show simbolically named '' Reincarnation''. We saw a timeframe of pictures from day of our birth to this present moment, and how a devotee can be recognized from early stages of his life, because he is always somehow different from their surroundings and people.

Last part was centered around everybody's observations of their lives in last year and of wishes with which we enter into a new one, so everybody nicely share with each others their thoughts. Then we constructed a beautiful kirtan for the Deities, exactly in time of an entering into this 2012. Then we served a feast, and after that we had a cracker show in a park at front of the temple. And we joined the whole town atmosphere with sound and nice small colour rockets scraping the sky of our little town.

So we hope that finally in this predicted 2012. we will put an end to many of nonsense which is massively occurind intensivly during last few years...so that we can become more constructive and deeper culture !
